Energy Training Update — Summer 2010

in

I recently completed training to become a Passive House Consultant. The training covered Passive House fundamentals, building science, and relevant software. This gives me the knowledge to design these near-zero-energy buildings, including residences, commercial buildings, and remodels.

The course consisted of nine days, spread out over three months. My next step is completing the certification process for consultants, which involves passing an examination and getting a project certified. If you find the idea of a superlatively comfortable home with no utility bills interesting, I'd enjoy talking to you about it.

This spring I also attended a single-day training on eQUEST software, which is an energy modeling package suitable for non-residential structures. I may be taking more classes in the fall, and will keep you posted.
