Passive Houses: Buildings for our time

A Passive House (Passivhaus in German) is a building that provides superlative comfort with near-zero energy costs, by combining superinsulation, airtightness, solar energy, and controlled ventilation, through a precision design process. It is a building that gives people what they expect from today's buildings, while looking forward to times when energy may become scarce.

This concept has been proven successful in many situations:

  • Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings
  • Warm, Temperate, and Cold climates
  • New Construction and Remodels
  • Many Design styles

A Passive House will cost 10-20% more to construct than a similar house that is constructed to obsolete standards. The energy savings offers a reasonable return on this investment, which is attested to by the wide acceptance of the Passive House standard.

It takes a skilled designer and builder to get a Passive House built. Because of my talents, training, and experience, I would be a good choice to fulfill your design needs. I have taken extensive training through the Passive House Institute US.
